SanDiego SB 420What does Prop 215 and SB 420 mean to me if I live in San Diego?

The most recent amendments to San Diego’s MMJ regulations were made in 2003 and are presently being reviewed. Covered under San Diego Municipal Code Chapter 4: Health and Sanitation, Section 43.1308 it presently reads as follows:

“Medical marijuana patients with physician approval from a San Diego County doctor may keep up to 1 pound marijuana for medicinal use, and grow up to 24 cannabis plants indoors. As a patient caregiver, you can keep up to 2 pounds of medicinal marijuana and grow up to 48 plants indoors (proposed amendment will change this to 39). No unsupervised outdoor cultivation of marijuana for medicinal use is permitted. Patients and caregivers may grow the same amounts outlined previously if they closely follow the law outlining how to make an outdoor greenhouse or other structure compliant with code. Caregivers may have a maximum of four patients.”

One proposed amendment to San Diego’s current medical cannabis regulations is to enforce the use of State issued medical marijuana patient ID cards.
