Acapulco Gold: Marijuana strain from Mexico, sometimes sold at medical marijuana dispensaries and collectives.
Acapulco Red: Marijuana strain sold in medical marijuana dispensaries and collectives.
Accessory Cannaboids: Cannaboids (CBC, CBD, CBN) which interact with the primary cannabinoids to alter their medicinal effect.
Ace: Type of medicinal joint sold at medical marijuana collectives and clinics.

B

Black Ganga: Marijuana resin oil.
Black Gold: High-potency medical marijuana strain.
Black Hash: Hashish type usually associated with black resin quality.
Bong: Usually a water pipe used to smoke medical marijuana.
Boron: A trace fertilizer used to assist the healthy growth of organic marijuana plants.
Brick: Roughly one kilogram of marijuana.

C

Calcium: A trace element used in cannabis plant growth fertilization.
Cannabiniods: These are chemical compounds and elements found in THC and often considered to be the active ingredients.
Cannabis: Another term for marijuana.
Cannabis Indica: One of two principle strains of the marijuana plants; generally associated with a more sedative effect and good for pain relief.
Cannabis Sativa: One of two principle strains of the marijuana plants; generally associated with a more energetic, cerebral and focused effect.
Cannabis tea: A medicinal marijuana drink for medicating without smoking.
Cobalt: A type of fertilizer used for growing organic medical marijuana.

D

Dispensary: Usually referring to a state approved medical marijuana outlet in which medical marijuana is legally sold in states with compassionate care laws in place.
Dried Marijuana: Process through which the moisture is removed from the marijuana plant so it can be smoked; there are many different ways to do this.

Eighth: 3.5 grams of medicinal marijuana product.

F

Flowering: The act of maturing of the cannabis plant.

G

Genetics: The genetic combination of a particular marijuana strain derived from the parent strains.
Genotype, Marijuana: The genetic makeup condition of a strain of medical marijuana.
Gram: Amount of medical marijuana or medicinal hashish weighing 1 gram.
Grass: The most common term used to describe medical marijuana that is smoked.

H

Hemp: Cannabis stalks and stems. Hemp products are sometimes sold at dispensaries.
Hermaphrodite: A self-seeding marijuana plant including male and female flowers.
High Intensity Light: A type of light, more energy efficient than fluorescent lamps for purposes of growing marijuana.
Honey blunts: Marijuana cigars sealed with honey.
Hookah: A Middle Eastern smoking water pipe that can accommodate multiple smokers at one time. These are sold in many medical dispensaries and smoke shops.
Hybrid: The resultant offspring from marijuana plants of different breeds.

I

Indica: One of two major classes of medical marijuana strain type; the other is sativa.

J

Joint / Jay: A marijuana medical cigarette used for inhaling medication.

K

Kief: A type of medical cannabis made from the dried resin glands (or trichomes) of cannabis.

L

Lambsbread / Lambs Bread: Refers to a specific type of medical marijuana strain characterized by large Jamaican buds.
Lid: Slang for roughly one ounce of marijuana.

M

Medical Marijuana Card: Verification card issued to medical marijuana patients in states where the medicinal use of marijuana is approved.
Marijuana Plant: Cannabis plant; usually refers to the male variety of plant.
Medical Marijuana: Marijuana used as medicine for a variety of conditions in states with accepted medical marijuana policies.
MJ / MMJ: Refers to medical marijuana or marijuana.

N

NORML: A nonprofit organization focused on changing marijuana laws; abbreviation NORML stands for the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws.
Northern Lights: High quality, high potency stain of medical marijuana.
Nutrients: Primary, secondary and trace elements required for optimal medical marijuana plant growth.

O

O: Shorthand for one ounce of weighed medical marijuana.
Oil: Sometimes also called hash oil or cannabis oil, it is the purified and concentrated resin form of hashish or marijuana.

P

Pot: Slang term for marijuana.

Q

Quarter: 1/4 of an ounce of weighed medical marijuana.

R

Referring Physician: Medical doctor who recommends the use of medical marijuana to a patient based on their medical background and condition.
Ruderalis: Specific species of cannabis, found in Russia, grows 1 to 2.5 feet.

S

Sativa: One of two major classes of medical marijuana strain type; the other is indica.
Scales: Measurement device used to weigh out quantities of medical marijuana.

T

THC: Tetrahydrocannabinol is the active chemical in marijuana; a psychoactive cannabinoid.
Trace Elements: Nutrients needed in small quantities for a healthy medicinal marijuana plant.

Vegetative: Part of the marijuana plant growing cycle when the leaves experience growth.

Weed: Slang term for marijuana.
